Gadhafi captured, possibly killed
Tripoli: The former ruler of Libya Muammar Gaddafi was killed by transitional council’s fighters after arresting him wounded in his hometown of Sirte, al-Aarabia TV reported .


The channel quoted transitional council fighter as saying that the wounded Gaddafi succumbed to his injuries. However, a pro-Gaddafi TV channel denied the reports of Gaddafi’s arrest and his subsequent killing by the rebels.


Earlier different television channels reported, citing different officials and unidentified people that the dethrone ruler was arrested wounded from his hometown of Sirte by the fighters of National Transitional Council of Libya.


An Arab TV channel reported the National Transitional Council had announced the arrest of Gaddafi, but the report could not be confirmed independently. Reports said that Ghaddafi was arrested wounded in both legs.


Al Arabiya TV channel while quoting medics, also reports that ousted defense minister Abu Bakr Yunis has been killed during the operation to capture the former ruler.


Meanwhile, an international news agency reported that Gaddafi’s spokesman Moosa Ibrahim was also captured from Sirte.


Earlier, Libyan fighters hoisted national flags as they claimed control of Muammar Gaddafi’s hometown of Sirte, while the country’s new leaders cautioned that is was too early to declare victory over his loyalists.
